Is this car, photographed on the set of the upcoming Avengers film [via], a glimpse of a new Acura NSX re-boot? Acura tells Motor Trend

The open-top sports car you are referring to is a one-off fictional car that was created just for the film and is not intended for production. The only thing that we can confirm is information that our CEO has already publicly stated, that we are studying the development of a new sports model.

That development is said to be based on a “flipped” Accord chassis, with a 400 HP mid-mounted V6 and SH-AWD. And it wouldn’t be too terribly surprising if the results looked something like this concept when it starts hitting the car show circuit. In any case, Tony Stark looks nearly as at home in this as he does in an Audi R8. That alone is the most promising sign we’ve seen from Acura in some time…

Isn’t that Tony Stark of Iron Man fame – Avengers film ya right!

That is Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) of Iron Man fame, but this is for the Avengers movie. Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America have all been leading up to this, as all those characters make up the Avengers.

I’m kinda annoyed by this. I’m not an Audi fan, but I feel like Honda wouldn’t have this product placement problem if they had ONE DAMN sports car to speak of. This fake car business, to me, is nonsense.

This may be fictional but Acura needs to hire the person or persons who designed it because it looks fantastic!

    I would buy that!

It’s as ugly as all new Acuras, but I wouldn’t worry about it getting produced. Honda has fought an active, aggressive, and intentional war on the sports car for the last decade or so.

Given the license plate “Stark 33”, it has to be him… (or some heretofore not yet explained indie joke…)

Meh. Fictional car for a fictional organization in a work of theatrical fiction.

But I still want the Batmobile from the original animated series.

What’s wrong with this picture? I see a good looking Acura and I haven’t thought that since the Legend/Vigor days.

Since Acura doesn’t really exist outside of North America, I wonder if they will use CGI to transform the Acura badge into a Honda badge for releases in other countries?

Either way, a fictional film car will not do much to stop the decline of Honda.

Acura has definitely caught the Jaguar bug.

Make wonderful looking concept cars with no hope of production while your real cars are left with fatal flaws. While Jaguar’s car were stuck with obsolete designs and even worse electronics, Acura’s cars are left with hideous exterior designs, overengineered and harsh/loud/non-luxurious interiors, and drivetrains remarkable only for mediocre fuel economy with obsolete performance. Sounds like a win-win. Go Honda.

hahaha that is SUCH an Audi rip.

You know it’ll never see the light.

Its exhaust pipes are funny because they are different.

Anyway PASS. If it only exists in this movie then that is stupid.

Truly terrible! I can’t believe it! Someone deserves to get fired! Those pants he’s wearing are AT LEAST 2 inches too long and are those SNEAKERS?! The car on the other hand is too prototypey for a verdict.

Honda has said the new sports car is coming.

    I hope that is it!

Looks like Robocop from the front. Acura of old I miss you!
