Earlier today I wrote about how Tesla seems to be pushing for fewer safety guards on its so-called "Full-Self Driving" system even as it opens the program up to more "beta testers" and even as accidents involving the system and Tesla's Autopilot pile up. What I didn't mention, probably because I suspect it's common knowledge among our readership, is that there aren't federal rules governing these sorts of beta tests on public roads.

Recently I got a bit annoyed with two New York Times columnists for seeming to be surprised that legacy automakers were pumping out EVs to compete with Tesla.

Today, it's the Washington Post's turn to annoy me.

We've covered the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) pretty extensively this week, despite the fact that none of us have been on the ground in Vegas.

I went to wash a test car today, and I thought I'd timed it so there'd be no line, since it's warming up here after a deep freeze and a lot of people want to get the salt off their rides.

No such luck -- I sat in line for at least half an hour.

A huge percentage of the country is under some sort of winter storm watch or warning right now. Here in Chicago, it appears the amount of snow we're going to get will be easily manageable but the temps are supposed to be very, very cold.

The Kia Stinger is dead. The Nissan Maxima is going to die after 2023. The Volkswagen Arteon oft seems to be forgotten. Is there hope for mid-size sport sedans (and four-door coupes) with front-wheel or all-wheel drive and priced between $45,000 and $60,000?

Chris Tonn reviewed the Toyota Tundra for us this morning. A running theme that I've noticed whenever we review a Tundra or Nissan Titan is that we often say, even if the truck is good, that there's nothing about it that will help it steal sales from the Detroit Three.

We just ran a Used Car of the Day post -- and there's a decent chance that the featured car could fetch more than it's objectively worth, since auctions like Bring a Trailer tend to have crazy results.
