Housekeeping: Happy President's Day

Hey y'all, we're off Monday.

Yup, it's President's Day.

So we're taking the day to rest and relax. Back at it on Tuesday.

Until then, take 'er easy, be safe, don't drink and drive, and take care of yourselves.

Sorry I don't have a more tailor-made message but it's not a day known for either partying or somber reflection. At least not in my experience.

Anyway, enjoy!

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

    Happy Presidents' (plural possessive) Day!

It was almost warm enough today to paint, and the forecast called for no wind, so the chipping paint on the door opening of the 14-year-old RAV4 (along with the sill and lower rocker) has been repaired -- I know you are relieved. Thanks to automotive touchup dot com (or should they thank me). Originally painted in Canada, so I finished off the last of the Tim Horton's coffee during the job (symmetry!).

In reality, the only wind gusts occurred when the spray can was in actual use, which is usually how it goes (sound of marble in rattle can attracts wind). Ye olde heat gun helped the curing process.

"A vegetable that can barely speak a complete sentence is not running this country."

True. It's a toss up for the orange one. Trying to be the next president or trying NOT to be First Lady of the cell block.

Hey TTAC, why a Post about President's day? Why nothing for Valentine's Day or Black History Month? What do you have against Romantics and Blacks? There are Hyundai, Kia and Genesis fans who fall into those categories, some even in both! Honor them, at the very least.

"@Silvy_73 - it wasn't the Prime Minister who invited the Ukrainian ex-nazi. It was the Parliamentary Speaker of the House. He resigned over it."

@Sierra_94 Trudeau's government vetted everyone in attendance that day. So even after vetting him, Trudeau allowed him in Parliament. In addition, Trudeau's office invited the Nazi.
