Still looks like a Panamera to me.

I protest. At approximately 1:14 into it, they spell form with an extra “e.” Don’t they know that there’s still a shortage of vowels in Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro from the civil war?

    How insensitive!

Other than that, I do like the flaps on the bonnet to expose VW’s most expensive motor.

The ridge and rear-treatment are reminiscent of the rare Bugatti Atalante coupe (http://spbcar.ru/news/en/article/21043/) but remind me more of the Tatra T600 Tatraplan (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Tatra_T600_Tatraplan_z02.JPG)

Not likely to see one of these outside the grocery store anytime soon.

Estonia recently hiked the licensing fees on their vowels to these countries, that’s what’s really causing the shortage.

You can see the influence from old Bugs in the rear 1/4, and I like an unexpected hood opening mechanism as much as the next guy, but the rest seems sort of bland.

Why not make it truly outstanding, in the traditional sense?

update: Agree with findude, but I suspect they were going more for the Type 57SC Atlantic.

I like the big eyed headlights staring through expressive openings.

Other than that Monsieur Panhard, that extra “e” would be French as is the rest of the text. Confusing as, the narrator is oh, so British.

I suppose President Clinton’s work in the Balkans was fruitless after all…

Back on topic. That video is very cool. Rendered or real, it makes the vehicle appear to be a living thing.

A living thing with a mean visage.

alright…the bonnet was cooler then a polar bears paws

Agreed, the hood is prolly gonna be the hottest thing since Lambo doors

I’m waiting for the four-door Bugatti SUV.

    Love that flying vagina!

While I was initially cold on the Panamera, the styling has grown on me, especially the photos of the lavender colored one in a recent Car&Driver, so, perhaps this will to, or more likely, it won’t matter, because even if I did have the money for one I’d likely buy a nice beach house instead…

A snooty Brit accent is required to legitimize a puckered, vagina face car. The bifurcated, raised eyebrow mimicking hood dealy-o is pretty slick, though.

“Like da quickening of da blood

What, Nothing about the 1000 year Riech?

    Here’s a prototype they had : http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/78/Bugatti-EB-218-Concept.html

    I think it’s beautiful – what happened?

Dude, if you had the money to buy one of these you’d already have a beach house like this.

    * That’s just the best picture of the place, contrary to the picture’s description it really belongs to Lily Safra.

The car might be OK, but that was a pretty dumb car ad; it says less than many other dumb car ads.

  • avatar
    stuki

Is that thing for sale? Or just a concept car that they are advertising?

  • avatar

Pure blood (pur sang) it ain’t. Bugatti would give the clown that stuck his proud marque on this pretty boy toy the tip of his boot and the jerk wouldn’t hit the ground for 10 feet.
Real Bugattis were visceral, like riding a Triple Crown winner.

The EB218 was styled by Giugiaro.
    This wasn’t.

    @Stewart Dean :
Pure blood (pur sang) it ain’t.

Same problem with the Veyron. Ettore wasn’t known for mid-engined supercars.

The pho(faux?)tography is beautiful. The headlight eyes are magnificent. I also like the “dealy-os”. It does look alive.

But why did they put a clown nose on the damned thing?

  • avatar

I think I saw one in the Walmart parking lot the other night….

    Targa Florio

If this goes into production, is it a money making venture? VW is losing money on every Veyron they sell, I doubt they want two Bugattis like that.

It’s a well knowned fact. Ugly girls sitting in the shadows under certain light may look good. Otherwise i find that ad very snob…and the name….caliber? No galipier….(inlude here fart noise)
