Today I wanted to take a break from car stuff and ask you about your Memorial Day plans as we start the summer of 2024.

I think we've done this type of QOTD before, but hey, it's a three-day weekend.

What are you going to do? Head to a lake house? Grill? Watch Racing? Just relax? Something else?

Let's go ahead and be friendly down in the comments below. Please keep it civil.

That out of the way, sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

At the summer property putting boats in the water, leveling boat lifts, cleaning the lots for summer, etc. Typical cabin stuff in the most beautiful place on the planet

Put in the veggie garden (Western Michigan, we still can get frost this late in the year) finished the remainder of the landscaping updates and hand washed both my beater Pontiac and the Town and Country! Going to the beach today...

Hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day - tornadoes hit just west of here and when it wasn't spent at work, yesterday had a lot of cleanup of trees and branches down all over the street and yard. The sound of chainsaws echoed all over the neighborhood.

I don't celebrate the beginning of Summer until the Solstice on June 20 this year. I used to go to England and dance naked around Stonehenge with the druids, but the "authorities" put the kibosh on that. Now I just bake potatoes wrapped in foil on my car's engine block, in the driveway.
