NASCAR veteran Jimmie Johnson will not be racing in this coming weekend's Grant Park 220 in Chicago after his in-laws were found dead in Oklahoma.

The seven-time Cup Series champion, who has been driving part-time this year, will skip the race after his wife's parents and her nephew were found dead in Muskogee, Oklahoma, as part of what might be a murder suicide.

Jack and Terry Janway were found dead at their home, along with their 11-year-old grandson Dalton Janway. Johnson's wife Chandra is their daughter and Dalton's aunt. Jack was 69 and Terry was 68.

Johnson is the co-owner of Legacy Motor Club and drives part-time for the team. The team released the following statement:

MOTOR CLUB has elected to withdraw the No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet from this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago.
The Johnson family has asked for privacy at this time and no further statements will be made.
