New York 2015: Mercedes-Benz ML Renamed "GLE"

As part of its efforts to re-brand crossovers, the Mercedes-Benz ML is now the “GLE”, the X5 to the GLE Coupe’s X6.

Along with a diesel 4-cylinder and a gasoline V6 (with or without turbos), there is an AMG version, the GLE63 AMG and an “S” version. The diesel, dubbed the GLE300d makes 2.1-liter, four-cylinder diesel making 201 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque, while the atmospheric V6 3.5-liter V6 makies 302 hp and 273 lb-ft. The turbo V6 makes 329 hp and 354 lb-ft. The AMG versions use the familiar twin-turbo V8 will make 550 or 577 hp depending on grade. A plug-in hybrid version will also be available. Full details will be announced at next week’s New York Auto Show.

  • Thomas Same here....but keep in mind that EVs are already much more efficient than ICE vehicles. They need to catch up in all the other areas you mentioned.
