Used Car of the Day: 1993 Toyota 4Runner
Today's UCOTD is a pure off-road rig. It's a 1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with a new engine.
New engine, new hoses, new engine mounts -- a lot of work has been done here. The automatic transmission has been rebuilt. The shocks are new Bilsteins.
There are lockers front and rear and Warn manual locking hubs in front, and off-road-ready bumpers.
Not everything is new -- the tires have about 50 percent of tread life left. Though they, too, are off-road ready.
There's a two-inch lift kit, reupholstered interior, and LED lighting. The A/C and electronics apparently work perfectly.

It is a major faux pas to have the synthetic line exposed like that. Line degrades with exposure to UV light. Everyone I know with synthetic line has some sort of cover to protect it from light.
A high ATP hyundai kia buyer would never ever consider this worthless oppressive junk.
I distinctively remember my neighbors in the early 1990s having a dark blue 4Runner Diesel. They didn’t drive much and the car was mainly used for shopping trips around town (provincial Bavaria). The Diesel engine on this thing was loud. I almost had the impression they didn’t drive it much because they were afraid of waking up the entire street. At some point by the late 1990s their 4Runner had visible rust spots and probably would have had issues with the TÜV. I can’t remember what came after it but it was also a Toyota SUV, perhaps the 4Runner of the late 1990s / early 2000s but I just can’t remember.
Currently they own the newest 4Runner or RAV4 or some… Toyota SUV product. This time a hybrid. The husband also has a classic Harley Davidson motorcycle which is just as loud as their 1990s 4Runner! When Mr. Trommler likes to take his Harley for a spin, he will push it out of his garage and towards the end of the street (where there are some abandoned houses) and that’s where he will start the engine. A true gentleman. :D
