Rick's arrival in a Volt is another example of why GM failed. Apperances are everything but they are clueless of public perception. They would spend thousands shipping the Volt from Detroit so Rick could roll up to Congress in "the future of automobiles" and not get that we would question the money spent.

They probably set up a task force of senior executives to decide what Wagoner would arrive in, and another task force to decide what hubcaps, if any, should be applied...

http://tinyurl.com/627hro Canada's Highway of Heroes (401 in Ontario). The fallen from Canada's war effort in Afghanistan are honored by being driven down the 401 with hundreds of onlookers on the overpasses. Unfortunately there is no American Highway of Heroes, as current SOP is to hide our war dead. But we do now have a Highway of Beggars and Thieves, don't we? I want to see some new trailblazers on the OH and PA turnpikes. (I think the Engine of Democracy logo would be a suitable design for these!)

thalter : What, they couldn’t at least come up with a set of wheel covers? Or would that have been too “showy”? They were plastic and they fell off. thalter : And I think he left a window rolled down… The crank mechanism broke and the window fell down inside the door, just like on a Cavalier. Probably the same Cavalier parts.
