2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4XE Review – Getting Your Money’s Worth?

In general, I am on record as liking the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s one of the vehicles that I would consider buying with my own money.

I am not sure that same consideration extends to the electrified version. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE costs a pretty penny, especially when you opt for the off-road-oriented Trailhawk trim, and while I like the concept of plug-in hybrids in general, this one might not be worth the dough.

Jeep Recalls 45,000 Electrified Wranglers Over Fire Risk

Following eight reports of vehicle fires, Jeep has decided to recall 32,125 examples of the Wrangler 4xe PHEV in the United States. The vehicles come from the 2021-2024 model year, with roughly 13,000 being situated outside the U.S. While parent company Stellantis has said the vehicles can continue being driven, it's advising customers against charging them and has likewise recommended parking them outdoors away from anything you might not want burned.

Junkyard Find: 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4

  • Daniel J I generally love colors outside of the normal white, black, or silver. The biggest issue we've had is Mazda tends not to put the colors we want with the trim or interior we want.
  • Daniel J If you believe what Elon says, he said on X that the plan is expand at current locations and make sure that the current chargers are being maintained. Like I said on the previous thread on this, they probably looked at the numbers and realized that new chargers in new places aren't cost effective.
  • Daniel J How is this different than a fully lifted truck? I see trucks rolling off the lot with the back lifted already, and then folks get the front lifted to match. Are there specific "metrics" at how high they can and can't be? The example shown has the truck's front lifted more than normal, but I've seen these around here where the backend is dropped and the front end is at a regular height.
