Drag racers, please tell me why? To my untrained eye, I'd have to think shortening the wheelbase by 27 inches would be a serious negative in the 1/4 mile--aside from the expected weight savings... This has to be an absolute nightmare to drive.

Hmmm..I bet they started with a lower-trim (non-hardtop) sedan as a basis. IIRC, those shared the same profile with the coupes from the C-pillar back.
Then they'd have to do some creative welding to fit up that A-pillar! Then cut aft of the A-pillar, and align the A-pillar with where the B-pillar was. Interesting! With all that power, I would put the little "training wheels" out the back to keep this contraption from turning turtle when the tree goes green! ![]() |
