QOTD: Should Toyota Go Small With Its Next Truck?
Matt's piece about Toyota and small trucks today got me thinking. I am ready to ask the very obvious question: Should Toyota join Ford and Hyundai in bringing small trucks back to market?
This one is pretty self-explanatory and doesn't require much setup. It's pretty simple -- should Toyota build a Maverick competitor?

I bought a Maverick specifically because I wanted utility and great fuel economy. My wife has a RAV4 hybrid that we really like. I think Toyota would print money with a smaller RAV4 based truck.
I've said it before: the two most popular vehicle types are CUVs and pickups - the combination seems like a win-win. I've had a 5 foot bed for 23 years and its never been an issue (Ranger Splash, then Dakota Quad Cab). So I know the 4 foot bed in my Santa Cruz will be fine for my use case. If the Ranger hadn't grown so big I would have gotten one. However the main advantage of using a CUV as a platform is having that car-like handling and ride. That is most impressive thing so far with my SC - its ride quality and interior is on par with my wife's Infiniti and previous Volvo however the Hyundai has superior tech.
