Once again, we're taking a break on Monday to honor those who died fighting for freedom.

We may also be getting outside, grilling, relaxing, seeing friends and/or family, watching Indycar, watching NASCAR, watching get the picture.

Every year someone notes how what should be a solemn holiday turns into a weekend that's often anything but. People have fun, a lot of merch gets placed on sale, and the weekend is seen as the start of summer.

I won't say more on that -- I just want you all to be safe and don't drink and drive. We'll see you back here on Tuesday.

Happy Memorial Day, everybody.

Take some time today to realize that virtually zero soldiers had died defending your border.

Our BN in Iraq lost their CDR, driver, gunner, interpersonal and RTO when his M1151 Hummer was hit by a 1000 lb VBIED (car bomb). We took the casualties back to the FOB. It brings a lot of things into perspective when you have a family knowing the families of those KIA a will never be the same from their loss. My three boys were1, 2, and 7 at the time.
