Reuters is reporting police have raided Toyota’s office in Tokyo in connection with the arrest of communications chief Julie Hamp over alleged drug importation offences.
When asked, a Toyota spokesman declined to comment on the nature of the police presence, but said the company is cooperating with police.
Hamp, the first female senior executive at Toyota, has a long road ahead of her if there’s enough evidence to bring her to trial, as we covered last week.

I’m not fooled here. Ms. Hamp is actually the culmination of Toyota’s secret project to unseat Honda’s Aisimo as the most advanced humanoid robot. The arrest is just part of launch publicity.
Shhhhhh.
“We watched Martha Stewart Living. We watched it for quite some time.
I don’t think Martha Stewart IS living.
I think that was some kind of a robot I was watching.”

The dead lifeless eyes and lack of blinking is a sure giveaway…
The Japanese like those big lifelike dolls. Except she needs bigger eyes.
Some Extacy will provide the desired look.
This is almost as intriguing as the FIFA fiasco…almost.
She is in big trouble. It is my understanding that the Japanese “justice” system makes Gitmo look like a Baltimore PD internal investigation.
Not if you apologize. No Westerner would believe the importance of that until you’ve looked into it.
It would be a lot cleaner than either Baltimore or Gitmo. They probably wear all white!
Haha, no.
The Japanese justice system is a joke that depends almost entirely upon shame, social pressure and social consequences upon your immediate family. If you have none, the Japanese system has a very difficult time incentivizing you to confess. Without a confession, the Japanese system is almost completely useless.
Unless they have video evidence of her physically consuming those pills, it doesn’t matter how much evidence they have – if she maintains her own innocence and admits no guilt, the most they can do is drag her trial out over an extended period of time, the end of which she walks with no conviction.
Of course, everyone around her will be pressuring her to confess, so we’ll see how it plays out.
“Hello, this is Tokyo Prefecture Police.
What do you mean, she brought in Mr. Hamp to Narita?? Someone told us she brought HEMP into the airport!!”
Whatever. She should have been arrested for wearing that calvinistic smock.
Toyota must be enjoying their diversity initiative about now.
COTD.
I always thought Diversity was an old, old wooden ship.
I always thought diversity was what you played after JV.
Diversity – isn’t that the show with Alex Trebek?
I’ll take 10 for pain killers Please?
I AM DOUG BOT- I FIND JULIE BOT MOST QUALIFIED FOR “WIFU”, JULIE BOT WOULD NEVER INVOLVE WITH DRUG.
….QOTD: WHAT CAR WOULD YOU SMUGGLE DRUGS WITH?
They should just pay you for QOTD articles.
I wouldn’t mind that, only problem is that my formal writing style struggles to meet minimum word requirements.
HAHA! HUMAN CANNOT COMPETE WITH DOUG-BOT WORD COUNT! THAT IS MOST FUNNY! L0L0L0L0L
Answer: Not my own.
How about Doug Demuro’s personal vehicle?
I think he’s already using his for a coke operation. Maybe he’d lend me his Sunday car?
The coke is used as “stuffing” for the broke-ass air bag suspension.
Shh.
I would use CJ’s Honda. If the cops try to stop me, the Takata shrapnel defense system would protect me.
Norm’s Saab has flight capabilities, I’d go with it.
Norm’s SAAB is at Area 51, producing gasoline for our military. You’ll never get your hands on it.
I’d use a Miata, ‘cuz thats what the internet says to do.
Honqi Donqi? Like pack mule for clazy folk.
That is off the wall. And funny!
What car would I use to smuggle drugs? I’ll take the Cognoscenti.
In real life, I’ll take a Scion xB. I can go out in style, just like the lady in the “Benny Hill” chase!
Dat new Windsor tho.
1960 Buick Invicta, of course.
A cookie for anyone who gets the reference.
It’s time for a pill popping pariah pizza pie party.
Do the Japanese Police drive Toyota’s?
I would find the raid even more amusing if the police drove Toyota’s.
The definition of Not Good. Maybe Julie Roehm is available? At least she’s fun to party with, or so I’ve heard.
