Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman

The big daddy of despot and celebrity rides will model its new suit when the Mercedes Pullman arrives arm-in-arm with a C-Class PHEV in Geneva next month.

Reuters reports the new six-passenger Pullman will, like the original’s ideological successor, the S600 Pullman, be based upon the current S-Class, but will gain a meter in the length of its wheelbase to accommodate high-level dignitaries and celebrities on their way to world-affecting and/or illicit affairs.

As for the C-Class PHEV, the model will be among the first to have a plug-in hybrid powertrain, allowing drivers to head into the city for work and/or errands on just electric power alone.

I guess I have read that the monster charge to enter central London is reduced for electric vehicles. Are there other european cites with similar toll strategies? Or does London still represent a concentration of extreme wealth large enough to justify it’s own micro car market for ultra premium hybrids like this and those from, the Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari. MB has never been enthusiastic about internal combustion/ electric hybrids.

Interesting, but where does the Maybach fit into the product line?

As I understand it, the Maybach is just the LWB where this is limo class XL-LWB. You can’t seat six in the Maybach, and I’m assuming a 2+4 arrangement here, with 4 first class seats at the back.

And after seeing some images of the brash nature of the new one, I’d rather have the old. Also found this old photo of the Grosser compared to the standard Benz sedans.
