TTAC Rewind: Double Super Bowl Edition
It's Super Bowl Sunday, so let's have a football-themed rewind instead of a random car review pulled from the archives. Today. we've got a double feature for you -- in case the game gets boring.
First off, let's go back one year in time to see how last year's Super Bowl car ads aged. I still remember standing in the lady friend's kitchen, putting the finishing touches on some ribs, when the first notes of The Sopranos theme stopped me in my tracks. That was the best car-related ad of the game, IMO.
You will have to search for some of the videos -- sometimes the embedded versions go private or YouTube-only and we don't have the time to update them all -- but it's still a fun trip down memory lane.
Second, if you want to go back two years in time, you can see if my opinion about a certain Jeep ad has aged well.

Once again, the game turns out to be about the referees.
I had no dog in the fight yesterday, but the holding call against the Eagles with ~ 2:00 on the clock was ridiculous. The defender was barely touched.
Didnt watch it. Orgy of excess. Spoiled babies making $10million. Refs that mess up the game. Terrible commercials try to out cute each other. Cant take it. And the half time show is usually over hyped super stinky garbage.
I get my football from CFL and college. I m done. OUT.
And why is this crap on a Sunday? I ll have 20% absenteeism today. MOVE IT TO SATURDAY. Common sense has been asking for this for 10 years. Screw you- the customer doesnt matter. I m the NFL. You ll suck on it and like it SKUM!
I stopped watching the NFL around the same time that I stopped watching/following professional auto racing. When the money started buying up pro sports and changing the rules to get more eyeballs watching and income flowing in I was done. Pro-hockey is the last one to go, sadly. I did watch the Super Bowl once about 40 years ago 600 miles from Hawaii on a local Honolulu TV station in the pre-satellite days - the spooks on the ship used the spook gear to pull it in but only in black and white - that was pretty impressive.
