Carnewschina has another indicator that the Chinese bubble must be bursting somewhere, somehow. I mean, didn’t we just got used to a Bling Dynasty, where any self-respecting supercar owner had his Lamborghini Gallardo covered in gold? If Chinese must economize, then they choose a gold-plated Infiniti G37?
Those heady days appear to be coming to an end. Instead of gold-plated Gallardos, now there are – silver-plated Ferrari 458 Italias.
If the current Chinese slowdown turns into a recession, we might see bronze Porsches. Once it’s down to black A6, then you know: Busted!

Are we quite sure it’s silver, not platinum? Or plutonium?
Or unobtainium?
My thoughts exactly. Its either “white Gold” or Chrome. Exposed to the elements, silver plate will turn brown/black in very short order.
I think the 458 looks pretty darn good silver-plated/wrapped!
Chromed/silver body-work, but brushed metal wheels and black side mirrors? I’m certain that if you had the coin, Ferrari would provide you with whatever ghastly matching “upgrades” for wheels and trim you need for your ghastly sliver-leafed Ferrari. So this car screams “budget.
I’m saving my pennies to pick up slightly used Ferrari with flaking “silver” cladding and bespoke double-happiness brocade upholstery. After the 07-08 financial crash, in Dubai/Qatar/etc., similar cherries were left parked in the desert or abandoned in garages.
Looks like Spectra Chrome or one of the other spray on chrome products.
Now that’s a sterling silver piece I wish I’d inherited…
Love it
That is the most tasteless, classless Ferrari ever. I want one.
Every time I see references to “Carnewschina” I think it must be a site about pork meat, titled in Hispaño-German or some such.
