Well, he could do worse...like that Abernathy guy. Seriously, a G6, Abernathy? I thought you were smart.
I once owned two RX-7s. They were a lot of fun, and I had few problems with them when they were cared for. My last one, an '84 GSL-SE, I sold it with 178k miles on it to a friend. It's sitting in a garage as he's going to restore it. It's still starts and runs fine. There is just nothing like the feel of a rotary engine at high RPM going over the Rockies. I'd have my GSL-SE in 3rd gear going up to the Eisenhower Tunnel passing everyone. Plus I'll never forget, in the summer of '95, I was just starting to drive down the Big Thompson Canyon leaving Estes Park, CO, when two brand new Corvettes flew around me racing each other down the canyon. I stayed on their rear bumper and they couldn't shake me which I'm sure ruined their day. (lol) Truly an amazing motor. Someday I'll have to pickup a used RX-8. I almost bought a new one several years ago, but I got into the Jeep thing instead.
I'm disappointed. This appears to be little more than a plug for an advertiser on your site. I expect better of TTAC. After all, there's nothing distinctive about the commercial, as Shaker pointed out, even the joke was 20 years old.
