OK, so I’ve changed the video. Doctor V-8 pointed out that the Avalate conversion debuted back in the 1940’s. The new video raises a more interesting question: why make these things even more powerful? Why not you say? Yes, I know: God bless America. If Corvette modifiers didn’t exist, Massachusetts wouldn’t have a warehouse Italian restaurant chain called Vinny T’s. And a damn fine spaghetti vongole they make too. Still, you gotta wonder. What’s with the gloomy music? Didn’t muscle cars come of age with Doo-Wop? Just sayin’.

I’ve seen some nice-looking Corvette conversions out there, but that thing is just hideous.
So you take styling cues from a five year old Hyundai, and expect
people to spend money on it?? Whats that line from Cheech and Chong??
Oh, “Are you out of your fuckin’ mind??”

Robert, the use of all caps is akin to shouting on the internet. I just wanted to let you know :D
The only thing missing from this beast is a smokestack exhaust system and an ironing board tail fin.
I kind of like the front. The rest should be destroyed by fire. Immediately.
Oh, come on you guys; at least somebody’s TRYING to freshen up a GM model!
I think the back looks a bit Jaguarish. Not sure if I like that…but it IS better than that big-butt stock C5 rear-end. I do like the lines in the hood and the sides; and I’ve always liked the pop-up Vette headlights. The new model kind of lost something when the designers eliminated those.
Styling from a 5 year old Hyundai? Jaguarish? C’mon people, haven’t you ever seen a ’63 split-window coupe StingRay or Roadster?
While I will concede that it is not everyone’s cup of tea, altering the looks of a stock model has been a part of American car culture since folks started painting Ol’ Henry Ford’s model T any color but black….
Why does any instance of a company showing something the least bit different bring out the haters?
A little more work and that thing would be right at home on the Speed Racer set.
C’mon guys…this “conversion” came out like 5 years ago. It’s not even based on the C6!
What’s next…debating whether Kerry can beat out Dubya in the upcoming election?
“Didn’t muscle cars come of age with Doo-Wop?”
No. Do-Wop was a 50s thing. Muscle cars were a 60s thing. Think metal — “Born to Be Wild”.
That was a perfect waste of time.
Once the “Car Czar” gets ahold of it, you’ll see a vette with a four cylinder engine and an 85 mph speedo. The performance package will be 150 hp.
What’s with the gloomy music? Didn’t muscle cars come of age with Doo-Wop?
Except….Corvette isn’t a muscle car.

That vid was horrible. Bad choice of music (good song though), poor editing, no action.
