I remember when Hurricane Juan hit Halifax, there were docks full of new cars fresh off the boat that got wrecked cosmetically. A lot of money went down the drain for that.
In reality, that's a fairly lightweight hail storm. The area in and around Fort Smith, AR got hit last April with baseball size hail driven by 100 MPH winds. The damage was almost unbelievable, especially to cars. Regressive Insurance set up a claims tent in a big box store parking lot and was totaling over 250 cars per day in the weeks that followed...
Had to be a rental -- not once did I hear "My poor freakin' CAR!".
Also. what's with the "Poison Gas" sign? I would be driving AWAY from that area, lest a tornado let loose a death cloud... A rather "otherworldly" event, for sure.
