Brits Remember First Car Better Than First Kiss

A survey by organizers of the British International Motor Show shows that Britons are more likely to remember their first car better than their first kiss. In fact, the survey shows that over 40% of the study group remembers the license plate number of their first car. The poll of 2,011 adults also shows that younger respondents anticipated getting their first car more than first kisses and 18th birthdays. Why the strong attraction to first cars? More than a third of respondents reported engaging in carnal acts in the back seat of their first car, and over half left home after securing their first set of wheels. "People develop powerful bonds with their cars, especially their first," says show organizer Kirsty Perkinson. "First cars represent an explosion of independence and a gateway to untold adventures, which is why they are so special." No word yet on whether carbon-hating London Mayor Ken Livingstone plans on challenging the results of this survey.

Ah yes, a 1978 Mercury Cougar that would not go over 25 MPH because the engine was so neglected. A tune up fixed it, but that engine wasn't long for this world.

wow. i so totally fit into this. while i was thinking of ZC93666 and comparing my truck to first-kiss-christine, i remembered that the first kiss was actually someone else entirely. so much for kiss numero uno being memorable. i will, however, barring a head injury, never forget that truck.

Ah yes, 1967 and a 1957 VW Beetle, best $25.00 I ever spent. Weld the fenders on solid, put an 8 track in her with a custom stereo speaker deck behind the back seat paint her mustang racing orange with a fake paint on black vinyl top. Don't forget a set of wheel converters to put Chevy wheels on her and a short throw Hurst shift and I had my first baby. Also had my first kiss in my first car, volkswagen heater were a great excuse for snuggling in our canadian winters. Oh yes I remember it costing more for an inverter than the car to pump the 6 volts up 12 volts so the 8 track would work. First 8 track I remeber as Well, CCR Cosmos Factory. 1200 cc's and 27 horespower actually used to be legitimate transportation.

Well, duh, because getting your first car was the first step to getting more than just kisses... "gateway to untold adventures" Uh-huh. We know what that means.
