Used Car of the Day: 2003 Acura RSX Type-S

Today's used car of the day is one that speaks to me, personally -- I loved the Acura RSX back in the day.

This one is a 283,000-mile Acura RSX Type-S with a six-speed manual. The owner says it runs well but has paint peel and the driver's seat needs repair. For reasons that aren't clearly explained, the car is badged as a Honda Integra.

The owner is based in Petaluma, California (home of Lagunitas beer, yum), and he or she is asking $3,500 for the car.

Go check it out, especially if you, like me, have a thing for these sporty small cars.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

In a week, this will be slammed and modded beyond recognition.

These are good cars, but this one is completely. used. up. LeMons is the only reasonable use at this point.

I remember getting an RSX (non-S) loaner while my '04 TSX was in the shop getting some damage from a flying piece of scrap metai repaired. it wasn't nearly as refined as the TSX but it was at least as fun to drive.
