Used Car of the Day: 1970 Ford Bronco

This 1970 Ford Bronco restomod still needs exterior work, but the seller claims that it runs and drives well.

It had better, for $45,000.

There's a long list of mods, mostly for off-roading -- more than I care to list here. You can click on over to see them all. Suffice it to say, if the seller is accurate, this Bronco seems more than trail ready.

The price does seem steep, though I am no expert in the used-car market generally or the market for 52-year-old Broncos specifically. Still, based on the ad, this vehicle seems ready to go for the hard-core off-roader -- and one who has the time and/or money could really get the exterior back to being good-looking.

Take a peek here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Anyone with 45 large to spend on a 52 year old off reader May just as well double the price and get the new one reviewed two articles up.

I hate when people do this to old trucks. 😒

Yeah, I hate seeing old Broncos cut up like this, especially considering the insane prices they go for nowadays. I'd like an honest stock late '60s Bronco with either the six or the 302.

    Good news: No more recalls.

Some strange choices here. It's like the seller couldn't decide if he wanted a mostly original Bronco or a restomod, and I don't think the result will work very well, off-road or on.
