TTAC Rewind: 2013 Honda Accord EX

Spend your Sunday evening gazing upon the words of Alex Dykes as he reviews the 2013 Honda Accord EX.

Dykes has since gone onto video fame. This review is supposed to have a video component, though that appears to be wonky right now. Either way, it's a really good read. Long and thorough but also entertaining. Give it a look -- then stop back tomorrow morning for my thoughts on the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

If ever there was an Accord that was to try and ape the BMW 5 series, this was it. Add in the V6 with better suspension and you have quite a pleasant road car.

My legs weren't supported like I want with the Accord, so I got a TSX instead. I still have it and happy with it.

Ah, the generation prior to the complete uglification of the Honduh lineup. The exterior was nice but the interior was not so good. Looked cheap and built to stay that way. Unfortunately these also were purchased by clowns who think they own the road and tailgate you in the slow lane for miles.

About the only downside to these is they look like an early Dungdai Genocide from the rear. Otherwise they are pretty good, reliable cars.
