QOTD: What Stuck Out From CES?

We've covered the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) pretty extensively this week, despite the fact that none of us have been on the ground in Vegas.

With the show winding down, I'm curious what has tickled your fancy and aroused your curiosity? The Afeela? The Ram Revolution? VinFast? Something we haven't covered (we'd love to hit it all, but our team is small)? CES has sort of become the unofficial fifth major North American auto show, at least in terms of news.

Sound off below.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

How about the "Arrow" concept car from the Canadian Auto parts industry?

If there is one EV company that Id like to see make it is Alpha. Clean simple designs with a little bit of retro. I know they are probably vaporware, but I like their stuff.

I was at CES. A couple of thoughts in regards to the automotive related spaces:

    1. Ram Revolution was the best BY FAR.
    2. VinFast spent a ton of money on their booth, and it showed. But I still wouldnt buy one, when it eventually gets here. But they look good.
    3. Lots of driverless, pod type concepts. Personally, I will NEVER want that. I want to DRIVE, not sit in some square pod. And what I drive, I want to be exciting in some way, nice to look at, fast, etc.
    4. Stellantis and Mercedes had very large booth spaces. Interesting, as the space is not cheap at all.

The electric Challenger with pipes that act like a pipe organ when driving to give the car a unique sound.

The booth babe did not like that I called the sound fake and that electric cars are the sad end of the muscle car era.
