It's the day after the Fourth of July and we're all dragging a bit. So, what do you do to counteract the post-fireworks malaise?
More specifically, what automotive-related activities are you engaging in this summer?
Autocrossing? SCCA racing? Watching the pros race? Towing a boat to the lake? Drag racing? Wrenching on a classic? Car shows?
It's summer. We're all out and about doing stuff. What kind of car stuff do you like to do this time of year?
Sound off below.

My 94 vette has been randomly shutting off after seeming running fine for a while. Did a bunch of research, replaced the IAC and ICM to no avail. So took Monday off before the 4th to tear it all apart (in 90+ degree heat and humidity) so I can replace the optispark...again (I replaced 4-5 years ago)...along with some other stuff for good measure. What a mess, antifreeze everywhere despite best efforts to drain/capture it properly. Now it's all apart sitting in the garage. Next over next several nights/weekends I'll clean everything up, fix/replace whatever, and put it back together. Still have to find the 16mm socket I dropped somewhere into the subframe under the engine. Good times! 😁 Can't wait to drive it again.
Hopefully getting this boot off my left foot in three weeks, so I can throw my leg over a motorcycle again. It's probably going to be three months of downtime until I'm riding again, the longest I've ever gone off a bike in 47 years. And that includes 22 years of Pennsylvania winters.
Happily SiriusXM has returned the Beach Boys channel (104), so that'll get me thru July.
Fingers crossed, the slocus might not need an evaporator core after all. Would like to get past 1 more summer at least. I replaced the roof trim strips last weekend with some self-stick trim I got off ebay. Would like to repaint the wheels sometime, but that has logistics. A few things on my junkyard list the first time a convenient, dry, sub-85 day comes. Road trip to SW VA and WV in a few weeks, then another to Pittsburgh in August.
Well, its winter here and 24 (metric 24) today. Nights get cold was 9.
