There’s a lot of you out on the roads today, heading back from relatives’s homes or vacation spots. Or maybe you’re keeping it local by attending a family barbecue or tackling a backyard (or garage) project.
Summer’s here, and that tarp-covered classic needs a once-over (or maybe a whole lot more than that) before it hits the streets, but take some time today to remember those who aren’t here for the ride.
The country’s service men and women deserve undying gratitude for volunteering to put themselves in harm’s way on your behalf. It’s a job — a duty, to those who answer the call — that carries great risk and requires equally great courage, and many fail to return home because of it.
The sacrifice of fallen soldiers and military personnel from past and current conflicts deserve to be recognized by those they served. Turn your evening drive into a one-car parade for them.
We’re taking the rest of the day away from our keyboards today. So should you, keyboard warriors.

Well said!
#1 AMERICANS BOW TO NO ONE EXCEPT GOD HIMSELF.
Though the current Administration feels that “the playing field ought to be leveled” THERE IS NO LEVELING OF THE PLAYING FIELD. WE ARE ON TOP. Everyone else can fight for second place.
#2 NEVER ALLOW FOREIGNERS TO THINK FOR EVEN ONE SECOND THAT THEY HAVE A SAY IN AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY – especially OUR ELECTIONS.
Though this current administration seems to make people *feel* that they have a say – THEY F IN DON’T.
#3 NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR AMERICAN EXCEPTIONLISM.
Though the current administration feels that he’s in a position to apologize for the decisions of someone else – it ain’t so.
Anyone who challenges this nation will find out very quickly that we do not tolerate challenges.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY VETERANS.
YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY WAY.
NEVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE.
IF people like ME were in office You’d never have to worry about your healthcare or your living arrangements. Make sure you vote out the communists and socialists this Election cycle.
TRUMP 2016
Will McAvoy would disagree.
This guy is hilarious.
Aside from your political positions, this quote really grinds my gears:
“THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY VETERANS. ”
You’re confused. Veterans’ Day is held in November. On Veterans’ day, we honor all who have served in the Armed Forces, Including living veterans and people who died after their service was completed.
Today is Memorial day, during which we honor the men and women who died WHILE IN SERVICE.
So unless you’re thanking dead people, save your thanks for Veterans’ Day.
Both the living and the dead can hear what I’m saying.
Your gears are IRRELEVANT.
As a veteran and a current member of the military and one who has lost friends and family, thank you for adding clarity to the meaning of Memorial Day.
This Democrat supporting Trump agrees with you!
Here in Texas, a fair number of vets get a personalized license plate with an image a medal they were awarded.

Every time I see one, I think better on the plate then in the case with the flag.
I’m working today, took last Monday off, left the laptops and phones at home and got outta dodge.
This is good though, I might actually get something done today!

Riding With Private Malone – a song that combines the story of a veteran with the story of a car.
Hats over hearts in solemn memory of our fallen comrades and a heartfelt thanks to all our men and women currently serving in uniform in harm’s way.

I celebrated by helping my son buy a 2007 Sonata today. It’s a decent used car, one he can finish his last term of college with and take into his first job.
And he paid for it with his own cash.
Yes, a Korean car, built in Alabama, whose assembly and subsequent purchases included taxes and commissions paid to Americans each time.
It’s our 5th Hyundai/Kia purchase, but I’m eager for my Model 3 to arrive.
My birthday! :D

I normally don’t go for the whole “memorial day sale” thing, but I did it. After much dithering I finally replaced my 2006 Acura RSX Type S with a 2016 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium on Saturday.
Many happy miles to you, sir!
I’m always fascinated by the difference between the traded car and the new car. In your case, they’re not hugely different this time, but some definitely are.
