Members of the Chinese car industry are busy hiring foreign engineers and designers. That trend apparently has not reached China’s Shaanxi Province yet. The province is home to state-owned conglomerate Shaanxi Victory. It’s automotive4 division made unremarkable trucks and vans. Very few knew of this venture. Now, Shaanxi is famous all the way to Detroit. The company copied the Cadillac Escalade as the master design for its new S102.
“The front looks very much like the good old American Cadillac Escalade EXT,” says Tycho de Feyter, who tracks the purloining of IPs at Carnewschina.
The truck is not on the road yet, but a picture and specs are on the company website.

GM will sue. And the Chinese court will say it isn’t anything close to the EXT because the bed doesn’t connect to the cab.
China is like the trademark wild west. They have no concern for things like intellectual property and their government doesn’t either.
Correction. China has no concern for FOREIGN IP. China cares very much about domestic IP and trademarks (see Apple vs. ProView).
Needs more chrome vents!
bu xie.
Nice.
Bwahahaha! It looks perfect.
I notice that even the Chinese won’t put fake fender vents on their vehicles. What’s underneath that I wonder? It would be ironic that it might be a far more capable BoF truck!
One thing I will give the counter-fitters is their “V” logo on grille looks very appropriate for a Cadillac. Place the Cadillac coat of arms inside of the V and it will look worlds better on a ‘Cadillac’ than the faux sport logo of today.
I wonder if it’s as easy to steal as the GM version is
The side view looks strikingly similar to a Colorado/Canyon…
