Nissan Releases Pathfinder Photo Which Looks Suspiciously Like Underwater Shots From Loch Ness

If you’re like no other person in the world, you’ve probably been anxiously awaiting the debut of a next-generation Pathfinder styling study. Fear not: it’s here. Maybe.

Nissan has a microsite where Pathy lovers can sign up to find out all about the new Pathfinder as information is released. What can we tell from the photo? Not much, except that the “Fuga” Coke-bottle-waisted styling from the Infiniti M has apparently found its way into the unibody truck line.

The Pathfinder Concept will debut at the Detroit show, about twenty days from now. In the meantime, you’ll have to be content with this shot. Something tells me that we’ll all be okay waiting.

It looks like it retains that 2dr thing, with the hidden rear door handles.

I can see door handles on the rear,at least I think I can. Nissans stupid hidden door handles is what killed the sales of the current Pathfinder. Many SUV buyers have little kids. Little kids can't reach the door handle..

I never liked hidden rear door handles myself (no matter what they're on), its still obvious when a vehicle has 4-doors and once you snap the handles they're probably a pain to fix. I know that the GM cars that had these tended to have their handles break over time, why not Nissans?

Will not be surprised if it turns out as a Murano-with-a-hump of some sort, CVT, FWD bias et al. And it will look ugly.

They already made that in the form of the Juke.

Fearless prediction: 10% better fuel economy, 20% less towing capacity, 30% higher Dodge Ram sales.
