My old buddy Steven had a '71 Cougar in this color, but badly faded from 18 years in the Colorado sun. It had the 429, and it was the best burnout-mobile I've ever rolled in. It could lay down a smoke screen like a World War I destroyer. Handling? Not so much. Ahh, hoonery.
Back in the '70's you could get a Ford [McCain??] Maverick in this color, Grabber Blue. It also came with ugly flat black tape stripes and hood applique. I can hardly wait for Obama Orange!
That looks like "Grabber Blue", a color option on Mustangs from about 1969 to 1971
According to the Marti Auto Works report for my 70 Mach 1 there were 2695 Mustangs produced that year in Grabber Blue.
