Most of us have forgotten something in a mode of public transport – be it a smartphone, sunglasses, or a jacket hastily flung onto the seat whilst fumbling around with luggage. Heck, a former managing editor of this place once managed to inexplicably leave his passport on an airplane, stranding him in a foreign country whilst he frantically sought a replacement.


In that vein, ridesharing company Uber has complied its 7th annual snapshot of riders’ most forgotten and most unique lost items.

BREAKING: Finicky Mazda Remote Start App Has Stopped Working, Power Outage Blamed

Mazda’s remote start app, which the automaker rolled out last month, has been suspended until Sept. 2 while the automaker restores its servers, the automaker said in an email Thursday to owners.

… we regret to inform you that, due to a system outage at our supplier’s data center, the MMS website and smartphone application are currently unavailable. We anticipate full system recovery on September 2, 2015.

The email notice stated the service was crippled by a “power outage that affected the data servers.”

  • Arthur Dailey Note that two of the digits on the odometer (both '1's) are not aligned with the other numbers. We were told years ago that this indicates either that the odometer has turned over (in this instance probably twice) or the odometer has been 'tampered' with.
  • SCE to AUX TTAC is that only 10% of households buy a new car every year, so the survey responses are suspect. I'm sure most people would indicate they'd like to buy a new car next year. As for the "Car Buying Preferences" shown above, those aren't worth wrapping fish in. 80% care about fuel economy? Not when trucks and SUVs dominate sales. 35% prefer an EV? That's not reflected in sales.

  • Fred I'm one of those 52%. My car was totaled about a year ago and had to get something. I'm not completely happy with the 2021 Honda HRV and wanted to upgrade, but when are on the lower end of the economy it's difficult to find anything under close to $30g I really want. Also the more I drive the Honda the more I like it.
