Used Car of the Day: 2003 Volkswagen GTI 20th Anniversary

I use a corporate database that shows what's for sale on our forums to highlight each UCOTD, and the pickings were a bit slim today. So this modified 2003 Volkswagen GTI 20th Anniversary car stood out to me.

Especially since the seller wants just $9,000.

This manual-transmission GTI has 124,000 miles on the odo and is pretty heavily modified. It has an airbag suspension and a long list of performance and audio mods.

The seller claims it's in pretty good shape for its age but also notes some minor cosmetic and rust issues and says that some of the mods, including the suspension, aren't working at their best and/or are showing age.

If you can live with that -- and maybe get those mods working properly again -- this Colorado car may be for you.

Bd2 As I have posited here numerous times; the Hyundai Pony Coupe of 1974 was the most influential sports and, later on, supercar template. This Toyota is a prime example of Hyundai's primal influence upon the design industry. Just look at the years, 1976 > 1974, so the numbers bear Hyundai out and this Toyota is the copy.
