Today we bring you a 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder.

This one is mostly stock, with 55K miles on it. Mostly stock -- it does have leather and heated seats, an upgraded audio unit with touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability. It also has a rearview camera.

Other mods include front and rear strut braces and low/center cross braces. The alarm is also aftermarket.

The only real issue seems to be a scratch in the hardtop. The car also comes with the original softtop, as well.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I'm waiting to see one with the rarely selected optional CVT.

42 miles a week. Are there better ways of throwing money away?

Spending money on attending a semester of your classes in automotive economics and engineering (TGG-2308) ?

  • SPPPP Well, at least it lets you select the brake regen level. I hate that dash, though.
  • Bkojote Wow, I can use the touch screen to adjust the steering wheel and oh my god i'm in hell.
  • Bkojote Without "Allison" I'll be forced to sit on the "non commercial" side of the truck stop diner and will be laughed at by all the real truckers because I can't tell them I've 'basically got the same transmission' as their Freightshaker. I still owe 85k on my Duramax. Please help.
  • ToolGuy™ Thanks Trump.
  • Bkojote I once saw a hacker documentary where the guy said "a gigabyte of RAM will do the trick" and was able to access the mainframe. So the solution is simple: ban RAM.
