Used Car Of The Day: 1970 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Convertible
We haven't featured many 'Vettes in this here feature, but today we have a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette. It's a convertible from the C3 generation.
Also, yes, UCOTD was on hiatus last week. I was spending my days away from the keyboard, playing with cars in the wilderness. Embargoes pop tomorrow so keep an eye on this site this week for two Subaru first drives.
That bit of housekeeping out of the way, let's get back to the feature.
This Corvette has been fully restored and is a rare February 1970 build. The list of restored parts is too much to get into here, you'll have to check out the listing.
Not only has the car been restored, but it has a long list of upgrades, as well. Again, best to click on over to the listing.
Because of its pedigree, the seller is asking for $43,500 for this one. It's available in Valencia, California. Click here for more.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

- Lorenzo The Labor Department jobs report will be delayed due to Congress not doing their jobs, but private industrial measures report there was a boost, back into expansion. People with 30 year old cars may have gotten jobs, but we wont know for sure until the Labor Department gets back to work from their unpaid layoff, for which they get paid back later, for not having done their jobs.
- Lorenzo That there is a rich man's Catera.
- Lorenzo I cannot believe no one has mentioned that director Sam Raimi put his dad's 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in every movie he made. Whether you like his movies or not its always interesting to watch for the ''Delta Appearance''. It was one of the last of the big Detroit full size cars, and held up very well over time. Over 142,000 were built but only one was enshrined in multiple movies.
- Normie Twice now EVs were rejected by the American driving public. They'll be back for a third failing attempt; probably will require a generational corporate leadership change for a trifecta.
- MaintenanceCosts H/K/G are going to have to lower EV prices a bit to bring sales back. They are getting outcompeted by GM and even Ford, mostly on price.

I didn't keep the 2--3 very long as it just felt like a big and low Chevy. My old Vette was much more fun!
I think the C1, C2 and the C6's are the best looking Corvette's. The C6 ZRI is on my wish list. Dad had a 57, my current one is a Base model 2009 C6 with 6 speed LS3.
