QOTD: What Is The Best Car For Teens?
Today, our podcast covered U.S. News and World Report's Best Cars for Teens for 2025. It's a good list, and we had a good conversation.
Now it's your turn.
If you have a teen and you're thinking about a new or slightly used car for them, what's on your list? Heck, even if your kids are too young, too old, or you don't have any, what would you do if you had a teen who was getting a car this year?
As mentioned on the podcast, I liked the Honda Civic Sport Hybrid as a good option -- sporty yet safe, practical, fuel efficient, and has Honda's reliability reputation.
But that's just me. What say you?
You know the drill. Sound off below

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

When I was a teen, most of my contmporaries had to drive hand-me-down full size Buicks and Oldsmobiles. They didn't drive them much - even at 30 cents, those 1960s tubs used a LOT of gas. I was actually envied because I drove a hand-me-down Rambler. I got about 80 miles per dollar!
My daughter just turned 16. My dad has a low-mile '15 SLK250 that he wants to sell (to get an Alfa Romeo Guilia). So I guess that's my answer.
