Ram Gave the 2025 1500 RHO the Mopar Treatment

Ram may bring back the V8 engine, but in the meantime, it’s doing everything it can to make you forget about the inline-six under the hood of its new trucks. Jokes about the engine aside, the new Ram 1500 RHO’s performance is nearly as impressive as last year’s supercharged V8-powered TRX, and the automaker is offering a Mopar upgrade package with elements from the brand’s 2024 SEMA show truck.

The Mopar package is a super-limited offering, with just 250 units headed to the U.S. and 25 to Canada. It features Mopar Blue and grey graphics on black paint and includes 18-inch wheels with 35-inch tires and beadlock capability. Ram also fits a bed-mounted spare tire carrier and the RamBar (sport bar) accessory.

Mopar accents continue inside, and each truck gets a serialized badge with its production number mounted on the center console. Other features come with the available RHO Level 1 options package, including leather upholstery with heating and ventilation, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch passenger display screen.

The RHO’s Hurricane High Output Straight-Six Turbo engine is a 3.0-liter mill making 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. While shy of the TRX’s numbers by a bit, the engine provides strong performance, including a 4.6-second 0-60 mph time, a 118-mph top speed, and a 13.1-second quarter mile at 105 mph.

The Mopar ’25 Package adds $6,500 to the RHO’s price, but getting the options package and black paint drives the price to $88,730, a fair spike over the truck’s $72,000 starting price.

I have a 2025 RAM (regular Bighorn) and I miss the 5.7 HEMI of the last 3 Rams ive had.. .my current oine has the 3.6 and it is laggy, choppy, , and in general annoying... it cant even stay in 8th gear on the highway at 70 MPH in any kind of breeze or even a slight incline like a bridge overpass triggers downshifts to 7... sometimes 6. my MPGs are worse than my 5.7 was by about 15%... why didnt I get a hurricane? buddy of mine with a grand wagoneer had his eat a turbo at 30K miles and so it got a new engine.. at 50K (20K on the new engine, it started setting boost, misfire codes and mysterious coolant loss.. after another month in the shop, and despite being outside of the lemon law, he took on the idea of suing stellantis over this vehicle.. they agreed (after he started contacting the media and blowing up the socials) to replace it with a new one, full warranty till 150K miles or 10 years as long as he owns it.. BUT he had to take down the Youtube videos and redact the social media posts... so far so good in a month of his ownership the new one hasnt broken down yet.. :) . alas unless stellantis brings back a V8 i wont be getting another ram after my 2025 lease expires in a couple years..
