Volkswagen Promises a Return to Physical Controls - For Real This Time

Volkswagen rightfully caught a lot of criticism over its move to turn most physical controls into touch-based buttons in new vehicles, but the automaker has apparently learned from that mistake. The company’s head of technical development, Kai Grunitz, told Autocar that VW was working on a new dash design to address the issues and focus on more traditional driver controls.

Grunitz confirmed that the upcoming ID 4 and ID 3 facelifts will feature redesigned interiors with a return to phsycial controls for essential vehicle functions like audio, climate, lights, and more. An internal VW source told Autocar that, “We’re going to bring back a round knob for the volume control. If you develop something that works, and it has worked for years, there’s no reason to replace it.” To be fair, Volkswagen is far from the only offender here, but it certainly went off the deep end with touch-based everything in its newest models.

We’ve heard rumbles that Volkswagen was planning to move in that direction, but these are the most direct confirmations yet. Beyond frustrating controls, VW Group has been plagued by software issues, delays, and other problems with its first-generation EVs. The company is expected to push the new control systems to gas vehicles as well, which has already started with physical buttons on the GTI and Golf R’s steering wheels.

Hello! I’m very excited to share what worked for me to everyone. I’m completely cured from my HSV-2 with the use of natural medicine. I have used Oregano oil, Coconut oil, Acyclovir, Valacyclovir, Famciclovir and some other products/supplements and it hasn’t helped ever since I was diagnosed. I got outbreaks frequently and was completely devastated and I went online for a possible cure and how to get rid of Herpes. On a fateful day after taking my bath, I took my phone and was going through some research, I bumped into a testimonial of Nature Care Health Clinic that cures diverse diseases/viruses with Herbal medication. I was hopeful but also doubted the claim. But after a while I thought “what do I have to lose?” so I decided to reach out to them and they asked series of questions as regards my present conditions and after which , they sent me some herbal medications which I steadily took for 14days as prescribed. I am quite glad I decided to reach out because I am totally cured from Herpes after a medical checkup was done by my family doctor who was actually surprised by the sudden transformation . So I’ve decided to make a quick testimony for anyone out there who is probably suffering from an illness they can’t handle to reach out to Nature Care Health Clinic. Big, big TTAC welcome to Liliane!

  • Shoulderboards I like most of what the Jetta delivers. A couple of gripes. Lose the red stripe under the front end, the 1980 ‘s left 36 years ago.A proper 6-speed manual transmission should at least be an available feature if the DSG must be standard.
  • Fred I like the digits for the speedometer, simple easy to read.
  • Fred My TLX has a trunk with no hooks for a net so I got one of those trunk organizers. Just a cheap one from Amazon. Something to keep the groceries from sliding and spilling all over.
  • Kjhkjlhkjhkljh kljhjkhjklhkjh its not even 2026 yet ... recall
  • Mnemic Muscle cars are the only CARS still selling. Look up top 10 coupe sales from 5-6 years ago. Damn corvettes were outselling 2 door honda civics. Mustang, Challenger and Camaro were top 3 and by a huge margin, nothing else came close. With Charger being so huge there is room for Dodge to make a smaller coupe
