To complain is to speak a First World Problem of the highest automotive order. But to catch my drift?

Here’s our latest, graphic free, HTML communiqué from the Ford GT Concierge:

We are pleased to inform you that it’s time to mark your calendar! Your anticipated Ordering Window for your new Ford GT should fall within April – June, 2018.

Your opportunity to purchase this vehicle is non-transferable and you agree to retain ownership for a minimum of 24 months after delivery and not to re-sell the vehicle within this period of time. The new Ford GT can only be purchased through a Ford GT Selling Dealer.

As we approach your Ordering Window, your Ford GT Concierge will reach out to you to begin the order process. In the interim, please refer to the Welcome Guide for further information about your ownership experience, and feel free to contact us at 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Sincerely,

Ford GT Concierge Team

You mean there’s a gratification delay for over a year? I mean, damn son, that’s more First World Problem Worse than no Wi-Fi at the restaurant for which to you want to leave a snarky Yelp review!

Watch this space for our next interaction with the Ford GT Concierge … but not anytime soon.

It's beginning to smell a lot like vaporware.

Hardly, they won Le Mans with a pair of them didn't they? The Ford GT probably won't take half the time the 2nd Gen NSX took to reach market. Its a limited production car build by a 3rd party company (who built the Aston Martin Vulcan), much like the last GT was built by Saleen. This car is far more complicated as well.

First the NES Classic fiasco...now this! BTW: I don't want to hear anything about how I have clean drinking water, ample food stuffs and a comfortable shelter.

My heart goes out to all those who have to wait. With all their money that they can piss away on status symbols, they can lease a Porsche to amuse themselves until the GT arrives.

Eastern European here. My father could not have imagined having car ordered and it being ready in less than five years. It seems for all the communist propaganda, capitalism is working better. Good for you chaps.

Well if it took em' 5 years to build it surely it was of the utmost quality, right?
