Daily Podcast: I Want to Be Bob Lutz

People say it’s great to be a weatherman because you get to be wrong most of the time and still get paid well. That’s the only other job besides being a GM executive for which your company can totally tank – as a result of your action (or inaction) and stick around and pick up millions upon millions of dollars in compensation. If you think about it, people like Bob Lutz aren’t the smartest people in the world (that didn’t take too much consideration); they’re just the luckiest. So that’s my new goal – be Bob Lutz. Or maybe Richard Fuld, or Rick Wagoner. Meanwhile, in today’s podcast Jonny Lieberman and I talk about Bentleys, Kias through Koreatown in LA, and mullet cars.

Somehow I have something more valuable then really good luck. Its cost me a lot...I'm spiritually rich. Driving a nice car resonates with me, so does making intelligent choices. I have faith in my path, I'd like what Lutz is um...given but given the whole package ie. being Lutz is just not me. Lol.

Back when Jalopnik was kind of a good site Please elaborate on this.

@storminvormin: I can't speak for Jonny (his retainer has been used up). But what I can say about Jalopnik is this: It used to be the sort of punk rock, rebellious car site with all sorts of interesting stuff. They still have much that's interesting, but it's a lot more mainstream now. And for me what I find most interesting is what Murilee Martin posts. Other than that, it's pretty similar to Autoblog, e.g. And Knight Rider and Transformers. Not interested.

@Justin I miss DAF vs. FAF, the Jalopnik Precast and everything thad made Jalopnik great. Now we get "10 great design features of the Volt" and Wert's constant -gasms. Jalopnik was best with Lieberman and Johnson still on board. Murilee is awesome, but he used to post mpre lovably weird stuff. The last really interesting thing on there was the Jetta SW/Goethe review.
