Amidst the controversy concerning the safety of various Chinese-made products, Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber (HZR) Co. is recalling their LTR tires. In a statement on PRNewswire, HZR states they have "fully cooperated with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) to provide information on the scope of the recall and the design history of the products involved." Of course "HZR has not found any evidence that the LTR tires at issue contain any structural defects or are missing any safety features." They are instructing consumers to return the tires to their dealer to have them checked.

I kinda felt bad for the US importer of these tires. At least it is good to see China Inc. stand behind one of its products...

This is one of the reasons I never buy no-name tires. With careful shopping a person can get a good deal on a name brand tire. At least with a name brand if there is a problem you can find the responsible party. No-name tires from a small importer made by an undisclosed factory in China is just asking for trouble.

why feel bad for the importer? They knew what they were doing. he went to chinese tires to make more money for himself. He took a gamble and lost. The real gamble is if you have these crappy tires on your ride you could end up paying. i bet you he doesn't have chinese tires on his personal auto. The queston is did you really save money buying cheap chinese tires by the time you find out it may be too late
