Dodge Challenger Outpaces Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro in Q2 Sales

We don’t normally pay too much attention to pony-car pissing contests or quarter-to-quarter sales battles because, well, they aren’t always interesting and/or newsworthy.

What happened this past quarter caught our eye, however.

Wjtinfwb Most Nova's were dogs, but, look carefully and you might find one of the 9C1 Police package Nova's built in the late '70s. A base 4dr sedan or 2dr couple, the 9C1 included the L48 350 4 barrel and suspension parts including some thick sway bars from the similar Z28 Camaro, Goodyear pursuit rated tires on Rally wheels and the usual HD cooling, electrical, etc. to tolerate the abuse heaped on police cars. Not really fast, but pretty solid handling and a much more nimble size than a Caprice or LTD in the day. The forerunner to todays P71 Crown Vic, many ended up as race cars and LeMons beaters. A bright spot in an otherwise sad ending to the storied Nova's of the 60s.
