Today we're going Swedish with this 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero convertible.

The ad copy is a bit light, but we can tell this one is black-on-black and it has about 108,000 miles on it. It seems to be in good shape, too. Oh, and it has V6 power.

The photos seem to indicate that, at least, and the seller indicates that they have kept up with preventative maintenance.

We can also tell you this car is for sale in Orange County, California for $8,750.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I have it's twin in a 2004 version with a 6 speed. The V6 didn't come around until the 2008 refresh. I do like the earlier version's front and back-end styling better though.

A co-worker had a couple of Saabs while I knew him. Nice cars, just that he couldn't keep them running for more than a few years. He finally gave up and bought a Honda Accord. It only lasted a couple of years and he traded it in out of boredom

You could be talking about me! I had two Saabs between 2005-2023 and then bought an Accord. I still have the Accord though.

  • Golden2husky My HS friend's family had a Wagoneer. These SUVs, plus the next gen that replaced it, were very much front and center in affluent neighborhoods. They were a tough as an anvil, and about as sophisticated. What this poor truck was put through was a testament to how rugged it was. We needed the "emergency" switch in the glove box on more than one occasion to get moving. Sadly, he flipped it in a parking lot - going fast in reverse and cutting the wheel hard. Tons of tire squealing, then silence. It's over so I thought until we landed on the roof and front of hood. I watched the windshield shatter and we ended up on our side. Stupid things kids will do. The Wagoneer took on a decidedly TR-7 look after the rollover.
  • Michael S6 I learned how to drive a manual on a Ford Pinto that my roommate had in grad school. It was not a very reliable car but not worse than my Cutlass.
