Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

- Slavuta These institutes must stop lying
- 28-Cars-Later The least likely city in America to ever buy one, now that's winning. Even L.A. would have been a better choice between similar population but being much more spread out with more highways and places to park.
- 28-Cars-Later "“These technologies are awesome,” Matt Moore, chief insurance operations officer at HLDI"Really? Tell us more."While the research only pertained to Mazda products"Oh? Therefore because Volvo dramatically improved safety, Yugo has gotten better. "As much as we like to groan about the distracting nature of modern vehicle tech, there are other factors to consider. Growing disparities in vehicle size ( newer models tend to be comparatively massive), increases of substance abuse, and an influx of illegal migrants driving in the country are all undoubtedly relevant."Matt didn't like those data points because they weren't awesome, thus they were ignored."Still, some of us are undoubtedly wondering if the juice is worth the squeeze."Its not."But severe accident rates are still significantly lower than they were from 1900-2005, despite insurance rates now surpassing record highs." Shhhh. The first thing about fraud club is you don't talk about fraud club.
- Ajla I expect you're both correct to some extent. I think it's reasonably likely that the people regularly posting on general purpose car websites like this one are above average drivers from a safety and skill perspective. So for us new safety tech might not be bringing much to the table. But for the average normie that's minimally engaged with driving it can help avoid accidents. As an analogy, microwaves make cooking easier but their function rarely appeals to folks otherwise passionate about cooking.
- Oldsaltydog Give me 2 milion dollars and I'll build a "premium" off road car too. Give me a break, 50 vehicles whoa, they are masters no doubt! lol! Probably can steal it with a nokia flip phone and the gerber multi-tool too!
