Bring back the Monte Carlo!
Way too many trucks. And way too many of the same trucks: i.e. GMC/Chevy. Pontiac dies and Buick lives. Caddy giving up names, using three-letters instead. I agree with many that have commented that GM should be only Cadillac & Chevrolet, in a Honda & Acura sort of way. Or else Caddy, Chevy, and GMC, where there would be no Chevy trucks, only GMC trucks. Actually that's a good idea: no Chevy trucks. Let Chevy concentrate on cars and come up with a world-class Accord/Civic, Camry/Corolla type duo. GM needs to embrace "less is more", and let economy of scale save them bottom line bucks. Seems perfectly obvious to everyone. All the Obama admin. had to do is say: "no more badge engineering if you want tax payer money" and they'd prove themselves smarter than most GM marketers and CEOs. Pick two maybe three brands and run with it. Killing off Pontiac is not enough. Nor is selling Hummer & Saturn. Pop quiz: which GM car competes directly with the Accord? Didn't answer in two seconds? That's one of GM's big problems.
