    what he really means is he wants to be a new china and have foreign companies kick in all the money and hire all the 'natives' in a 50/50 JV woulda worked except for that little thing called the GFC

    Uh huh. I'm sure Proton is just shaking in their boots. This is the same company who's idea of being competitive is to make the world's first Islamic car They do sell them in Australia... very, very few from my personal observation.
