This publication began covering the development of what became the MV-1 taxi/livery vehicle back in 2009, and that tale had plenty of interesting plot twists well into the following decade. About 2,000 MV-1s were built, so I figured I'd find one in a junkyard at some point. That day has come, with this 2015 model in a Denver self-service boneyard.

A few weeks ago, we concluded Abandoned History’s two-part coverage of the Chrysler UltraDrive transmission. Within the comments was a request for more transmission coverage of an equally abandoned nature. Let it be so! Come along as we discuss the vast automatically shifted expanse that was the Turbo-Hydramatic transmission family, by General Motors.

As I was considering some serious topics yesterday, namely the Jaguar XK8 as a used car buy and the new GMC Hummer EV, I came to the realization we’d never touched on any Hummer vehicles in the Rare Rides series.

It’s an oversight which is rectified today!
