The Genesis GV70 is one of the most eye-catching and value-packed SUVs in its segment, and it’s getting an update for the 2026 model year. Genesis’ most popular vehicle will receive updated styling, new technology, and more, but will retain its two powertrain choices.

While Genesis offers an electrified GV70, the SUV’s two gas engine options carryover into 2026. The base mill is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 300 horsepower and the available twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 makes a healthy 375. A new Terrain Mode comes standard, giving the GV70 better performance in mud, sand, and snow.

The new GV70 gets a fresh grille design and new headlights with the automaker’s multi-lens array tech. Electrified models hide their charge port behind the grille, and Genesis equips a heating element to prevent the charge port door from freezing shut in cold weather.

A new 27-inch OLED display comes standard, housing the gauge cluster and infotainment system. Genesis will offer a Bang and Olufsen 16-speaker stereo and tri-zone climate controls, and it improved the vehicle’s voice commands with more control over functions like the climate system and windows.

Genesis hasn’t detailed pricing for the new SUV yet, but more information will become available closer to the vehicle’s launch in early 2025. Buyers should expect a slight bump over the 2025 model’s $45,700 price tag, and the Electrified GV70 will likely climb closer to $70,000 to start.

I find it ironic the second (or third?) mass generation of BEVs comes at a time when the economy decided the election and 90-95% of the populace cannot afford and/or do not want them. I'm shocked pickups are a Cadillac level cost item now, but even the trailer trash somehow comes up with the $50K+ on one new or used because they are useful and can provide income. BEV cannot duplicate the utility (or lifespan) of a pickup -let alone demand- so they remain rich man's toys or in some cases such as Bolt, reasonable commuters with asterisks. How many more billions are going to be written off next year because of BEV? Maybe this is how the industry "consolidates", though massive losses spurred by unelected technocrats? BEV: the silent killer.

It's a highly prestigious style coveted by the most affluent of society.
  • Pete Skimmel Show me the driver's seat.
  • SCE to AUX They could build a small pickup; it's what the people want.
  • Johnster Maybe Buick-badged versions of the Suburban and Tahoe?
  • Kjhkjlhkjhkljh kljhjkhjklhkjh """As Ford and General Motors are taking billions of dollars in charges given that their electric vehicle plans didn’t play out as they were sabotaged by oil shill republicans"""Fixed that part for you ..
  • Ajla Cars, especially larger ones, falling so heavily out of favor with the buying public killed Buick and Chrysler. When it comes to utility vehicles I don't know what you can really do with either marque that isn't better accomplished with a different brand under their corporate umbrellas.
