Kia used this year’s New York International Auto Show as the stage to reveal the new EV4, its first electric sedan. Expected to launch in early 2026, the car will arrive with up to 330 miles of range, a 400-volt platform, and a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port out of the box.

The funky car borrows some styling elements from the EV6, including its front-end design and vertical LED daytime running lights. It features an odd roof shape with a two-piece spoiler, and 17-inch wheels come standard. Interior features include LED ambient interior lighting and a unique floating steering wheel design.

The EV4 rides on the shared Kia-Hyundai E-GMP platform, which offers a 400-volt electrical architecture. A 58.3 kWh battery is standard, while long-range models get an 81.4 kWh battery. Kia quotes a 235-mile range for the base battery and 330 miles for the long-range configuration. Using DC fast-charging, the car can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 29 minutes with the smaller battery and 31 minutes with the larger pack.

Inside, Kia equips almost 30 inches of combined screen real estate, including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a five-inch climate control display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with OTA updates, connected apps, and navigation. Several advanced driver-assistance features are also standard, including Kia’s Highway Driving Assist system, forward collision warnings, and more.

We are moving toward BORING "people boxes" that achieve little more than "moving people from Point "A" to Point "B". This vehicle is UGLY and undoubtedly as much fun as a Colon Screening... At 76, I still enjoy driving.. cutting an Apex, rounding out a corner, and using my brain to drive... ENUFF!!

There's this moron on YouTube called "The Electric Viking" who's constantly touting new battery technologies that will yield the 600 mile range EV. Range seems to be stuck in the 300 mile range, which considering battery aging, environmental factors and charge profiles, is more like 200 miles.

  • Pete Skimmel I can see drivers ed teacher as a third career for Tim Walz.
  • Lou_BC How about mandatory driver's Ed for anyone under 100 years old? I'm all for mandatory retesting and recertification.
  • Burnbomber GM front driver A-bodies. They are the Chevy Celebrity, Pontiac 6000, Oldsmobile Ciera, and Buick Century (5th Generation). These are a derivative from the much maligned Chevrolet Citation, but they got this generation good. My 1st connection was in a daily 80 mile car pool, always riding in the back seat, in a stripper Pontiac 6000. It was a nice ride, quiet and roomy. Then I changed jobs and had a Chevy Celebrity as a company car. They were heavy duty strippers with a better than average GM feel (from F40 heavy-duty suspension option). I bought 2 ex-company cars at auction--one for my family and one for mother-in-law. They were extremely reliable, parts dirt cheap (especially in u-pulls), and simple to work on. It was the most reliable GM I've ever owned; better than my current Chevy Equinox, which will take a miracle to last as long as they did.
  • Slavuta Drivers in Bharat are better. Considering that rules are accepted as mere suggestions and a mix of car, bicycle, motorbike, pedestrian at the same place and time, these guys are virtuosos.
