The Car Brands With The Least DUI Arrests
We continue to dig through a study of DUI arrests. This one gave us data on cities and also on car brands. Yesterday, we gave you the worst. Today, it's the best.
Again, the metric used here is DUI arrests per 1,000 and there are 30 car brands involved. All this data comes from Lending Tree.
We're not sure how useful the car-brand data is -- just because there's a BMW near you in traffic, it doesn't mean the driver is blotto -- but it might spur some argument in the, ahem, barroom.
So, take a look below.

Kia
Kia's DUI per 1,000 drivers rate is 1.70.
Hyundai
                                             Hyundai is at 1.61.
Infiniti
Infiniti checks in with a rate of 1.48
Mercedes-Benz
                                             Mercedes-Benz has a DUI per 1,000 rate of 1.43
Chrysler
                                             Chrysler is at 1.42
Buick
                                             Buick's rate is 1.32
Pontiac
The study didn't say it was limited to currently active brands. So, with that in mind, we see Pontiac on the list. The brand has been dead since 2008 (though it took until 2010 to move all the metal), yet it's on the list with a rate of 1.22
Land Rover
Land Rover has a rate of 1.16
Lincoln
Lincoln, like Land Rover, has a 1.16 rate.
Mercury
We finish it off with another dead brand. Mercury has a 0.86 rate. It's not clear if the study controlled for dead brands -- is Mercury's rate so low because fewer are on the road?
