Used Car of the Day: 2012 Nissan Altima SR

Today's UCOTD is a bit different -- it's more of a daily driver than a project car or show queen or odd duck.

It's a 2012 Nissan Altima SR.

It has leather seats, heated seats, a Bose stereo with Bluetooth, a sunroof, and a rearview camera. The tires are new, as are the front brakes and rotors.

The seller says it's clean, has been garage-kept, and still smells new.

The ask is $17,800 and you can check out this Maryland-based car here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I would not touch any Nissan with a 20 foot pole, let alone a 10.

I recently bought a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 S. I told myself I wouldn't buy a car older than 5 years old but this one was one owner, no accidents, and only 67K miles. A car this age has on average 144K miles. I love this mid size sedan. It drives very smooth but I wish it had the 3.5 V6. It does feel a little underpowered for a car this size even if it's a 2.5 L 4 cylinder engine. It cost me less than $11,000.

  • EBFlex Virtue signaling is expensive. But we all knew the corpse wasn’t interested in actually doing what he said. He, once again, was trying to buy votes. It’s surprising to see the propaganda rag of the Democratic Party, WaPo, is actually holding the corpse accountable. Would love to hear what the toilet bowl brush has to say. Her spin on this would be epic.
